L'Etoile, leader of Russian perfumery and cosmetics retail chain, migrated the entire retail network management and sales management in all its stores on ERP solution based on Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 and Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail POS. The project lasted for 2.5 years and covered the company's headquarters and all of its retail stores (more than 900 according to the company's official data). The Odyssey Consulting Group consulting company was the implementation partner. In spring 2013, L'Etoile retail chain decided to migrate to a new platform for business process management and to replace its outdated POS automation solution, which was limiting retail chain development, with a new one providing ample opportunities to launch marketing campaigns and actions to increase customer loyalty and capable of enabling business expansion and bringing the retail chain to a new level of performance management.

Implementation of the system allowed to automate most of the processes in the central office, including merchandising, sales staff management, rent, finance, etc. Implementation of the Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail POS module was performed in parallel in several pilot stores of the retail chain. During the second stage of the project mechanisms for replicating the solution were developed, the retail chain's IT-infrastructure was significantly upgraded, and support mechanisms were created. Unprecedented speed of implementation - the process of replacing the cash register software took only two months, 100 cash desks were updated during the working day without interruption in the work of the stores. As a result of the teamwork of L'Etoile and Odyssey Consulting Group, all the stores were fully migrated to Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 for Retail POS solution by the beginning of the high sales season 2015-2016.
The new solution allows us to take customer preferences into account in our work with customers, using purchase statistics. Thanks to the self-service stations launched as part of the project in a number of our stores, queues at the cash desk have been significantly reduced and customer loyalty has increased. This project became one of the largest Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail POS implementation projects in the world. The implementation covers 3,500 cash registers in more than 900 L'Etoile perfume and cosmetics stores and is one of the five largest installations in the world. The implemented solution supports millions of transactions and requests for loyalty programs per day, and most importantly - it is truly innovative for the retail market
The Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail POS system in combination with the Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP-system lays foundation for developing information systems which generate personalized offers for customers and unique marketing activities, including those offered directly in stores at the moment of purchase at the cash desk.
The implemented solution creates the basis for implementing the retailer's omni-channel strategy and best supports the new concept of a self-service retail store with convenient terminals for customers, which were first presented at the grand opening in the "Evropeisky" shopping center in Moscow in February 2016
