Sucden migrated two of its enterprises to a new ERP system

The Sucden group of companies was founded in 1952 in Paris. It has been operating on the Russian market since 1993 and is one of the leading sugar producers. The structure of the Russian office includes five agricultural firms and three sugar factories located in the Krasnodar Territory (Tbilisi Sugar Factory), Lipetsk (Dobrinsky Sugar Factory) and Penza (Kamensky Sugar Factory - Atmis-Sakhar) regions. Sucden is one of the TOP-5 leaders in the production of sugar from beets and raw sugar.

A major sugar producer in Russia has completed implementation projects for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 at Dobrinsky Sugar Plant OJSC and Atmis Sakhar OJSC ". The project partner was Odyssey.

Overview

Sucden is carrying out a large-scale ERP system upgrade project at all its enterprises in Russia. The implementation of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 was first successfully implemented at the company's flagship enterprise, the Dobrinsky Sugar Plant, after which the transition to the new platform took place at the Kamensky Sugar Plant. As a result of the projects, Sucden received a single business model for all plants and unified planning and accounting processes.

“The new system affected all the vital processes for the enterprise: purchases, production, shipments and much more. The deployment covered 170 jobs at the Dobrinsky plant and about 90 employees at Kamensky. We plan to get the maximum benefit from our investments in the ERP system, create a single information environment for the entire group of companies, therefore, the project will cover all the plants of the holding in Russia,” comments Elena Andreevna Tumanova, director of the information systems department Sucden.

Tasks

• systems of different generations, both of them no longer met the requirements of performance and unification of business processes of all Sucden plants. The solutions did not support operations important for the holding, for example, there were no convenient tools for budgeting and automatic generation of accounting and tax reporting. Sucden management was looking for a comprehensive solution that could cover and optimize the tasks of finance, logistics, production and packaging of products, accounting for the cost of raw materials, production and non-production costs, calculating the cost of finished products, etc. create a single platform for reporting,
• systematize the process of preparing reference information,
• optimize catalogs of stock, suppliers and customers
• avoid double data entry.

The total duration of the project at Dobrinsky Sugar Plant JSC was about two years, as a result of the implementation, about 170 jobs were automated.

Project results

The functionality of the ERP system covered the activities of all departments of the company. At the Dobrinsky and Kamensky sugar factories, the following processes were automated and unified:

• Production and packaging of products; During the project, we carried out a significant reengineering of business processes, taking into account the requirements and standards of the global management of Sucden in France. We unified the processes of the two plants and implemented preventive cost control according to the new structure of budget analysts. The use of some tools, for example, automatic generation of accounting and tax reporting, became possible only with the advent of a new ERP system.
