Probusinessbank is a member of the Life Financial Group. The bank was founded on July 7, 1993 to serve manufacturing companies (industrial enterprises of the chemical, food, processing industries, high technology, communications, housing construction, transport and wholesale trade) and stimulate the development of enterprises of the market sector of the economy. Thanks to stable and professional work, Probusinessbank is well known in the international financial community. Traditional for the bank are credit programs, aimed at business development.
In order to establish efficient and effective management of budget processes of all departments of the bank, it was necessary to introduce a modern automated system. The IBM Cognos Planning system was chosen as the optimal solution. Among the advantages of this system is the ability to generate and track the implementation of the budget in real time, flexibility and scalability, ease of customization to the requirements of a specific customer. Odyssey Consulting Group, which has a successful practice in automating budget processes of enterprises, including the banking sector, based on IBM Cognos Planning, was chosen as a partner in the implementation project.
The first stage of the project took place in 2008-2009. The automated system budgeting was built on a turnkey basis, but unfortunately, was transferred to trial operation. Thus, the goal of the current stage of the project was to refine the existing model. In particular, it was necessary to implement the formation of models for planning and calculating the cost of liabilities, deposits, credit products.
The implementation of the project was fraught with a number of objective difficulties: the need to carry out complex calculations for products in Planning, the need to formalize the calculation models, expanding the needs of the customer during the project.
Another feature of the project was the presence of a large number of system unrelated data from various databases, so Excel was the main source of system data. Thanks to the qualified work of Odyssey Consulting Group specialists all the difficulties that arose were successfully overcome. A model was developed and implemented for calculating key parameters (the cost of banking products, the cost of liabilities), consolidated into a single information loop.
