Odyssey Consulting Group took part in Retail Business Russia 2011, one of the largest events for the retail industry. In addition to the distribution of standard marketing materials, the company organized an unusual grocery store in the exhibition area of the event. Odyssey Consulting Group offered all forum visitors to choose and purchase one of the products from its storefront in exchange for a special "five rubles" coupon. The Odyssey Consulting Group stand and the goods on display were designed in a pseudo-Soviet style, which piqued the interest of the participants of Retail Business Russia 2011 and inspired them to make an immediate "purchase". Odyssey Consulting Group promoters dressed in blue aprons made a circuit through the crowd of attendees and gave out company-logoed "banknotes". There was stewed meat, condensed milk, candy, macaroni, cocoa, cola and sprats for "sale". Each customer also received lollipops as a gift. Contrary to all skeptical predictions, the goods at the booth were not stale. By the middle of the first day, even the most demanding retailers were actively "buying" iconic and scarce in the Soviet era products. Boiled condensed milk, "Kitty Kitty" toffee and Pepsi-cola were especially popular.

All in all, the visitors of Retail Business Russia 2011 "bought" almost 200 kg of products at the Odyssey Consulting Group stand. The work of this impromptu store was automated with the help of the Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail solution. All the products were scanned, the information was displayed in the system and printed on the receipt. The customer could see with his own eyes the technical side of processing his order: all the operations were shown on a special plasma panel located next to the stand. A receipt with all the reflection of Odyssey Consulting Group's salesperson's actions was given to the customer together with the goods as a keepsake. The Odyssey Consulting Group store worked very efficiently. The "buyers" not only snapped up the goods from the booth, but were also interested in the company's activities in the retail industry, which were immediately reported to them by Odyssey Consulting Group's managers.

The reputable visitors of the Retail Business Russia 2011 forum were unanimous in calling the Odyssey Consulting Group "product promotion" one of the most unordinary and colorful, which they had ever seen in their practice. During the business part of Retail Business Russia 2011 Odyssey Consulting Group shared their experience of business processes optimization in Ukrainian retail chain of home appliances and electronics due to Microsoft technologies which were implemented in Comfy with active assistance of the consultants.
