Pronto-Moscow Media Holding is the leader of the Russian market of advertising and information publications in Moscow and 100 cities of Russia and the CIS, which has more than 250 media projects: print publications and online resources, including the newspaper " From hand to hand" — the first and most famous brand of the holding, as well as the leading websites in their segments job.ru and irr.ru.
The media holding includes many projects and more than 50 enterprises. Huge amounts of information are received every day from different sources, but the speed of obtaining consolidated data did not meet the needs of a large developing holding due to the lack of a unified information environment for reporting and analysis. The company had a whole "zoo" & nbsp; applications. All reporting converged to the management company in Excel and the consolidated reporting of the holding on general indicators was also summarized in this format. Another problem was discrepancies in the reports of different directorates and services and the fact that the consolidation of reports took two to three business days. Since the reports were weekly, it turned out that the analyst spent more time on collecting and checking information, and on analytics already there was no time left. A minimal analysis of the data was carried out, mainly aimed at checking the correctness.
To solve the problem of data preparation, Pronto-Moscow created a single data warehouse and data integration tools based on Informatica products. Different sources of information used in the central office and regional enterprises were brought together in a single repository using Informatica data integration tools. Thanks to this, a single information space was created within the holding, access to which later became carried out using IBM Cognos 8 BI. This system reduced the amount of technical work and improved the quality of the information provided, provided rapid access to data, allowed for a variety of and flexible reports, and reduced the number of human errors caused by the human factor. In addition, the transparency of reporting has increased, which made it possible to provide more accurate and up-to-date data to top management, as well as shareholders. Also was a metadata model and multidimensional analytical cubes have been built.
All existing reporting of the company is gradually transferred to a single source - data warehouse; extraction of information - by means of IBM & nbsp;
