The construction of a new plant for the production of flexible polymer packaging modified with own-produced nanocomposites, as well as plans for the development of the internal infrastructure prompted the management of Uralplastic to need to transfer the functionality of the outdated Microsoft Dynamics AX 3.0 ERP system to the new version of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009.
Anatoly Blyakhman, director of the IT department at Uralplastic, says: “We understood The ERP system should cover all the main processes & nbsp; of our business. Together with Odyssey Consulting Group specialists, we conducted an audit of logistics management processes, contract accounting, materials procurement, and found out that we do not actually use two a third of previously completed modifications of the Microsoft Dynamics AX 3.0 ERP system. In addition, the old version of ERP no longer met our performance requirements, in the end, we decided to switch to a new platform".
The main goals of the project were to increase the transparency and manageability of Uralplastic's key business processes, to obtain a complete, operational and reliable information for decision-making, as well as reducing material and financial costs at the stages of production planning and sales.
